about

RAVIV 6000 is remarkably unique, highly original music! The complex, meaningful compositions tell a captivating story of Alien civilizations yearning to communicate and make contact with us and others. The result is Electronica meets Jazz in an endless journey into the unknown! This tour de force musical juggernaut is deep. The musicians on this album encompass ideas so grand, vivid & bold that it makes one acutely aware that yes, there is life out there in the universe. This once in a millenium album can only be characterized as Inter-Dimensional Soul Music! RAVIV 6000 is a space being from the year 6000 traveling beyond time, forwards and backwards at the speed of light, easily warping through dimensions to make contact with distant civilizations wherever they happen to be located. Will contact be made here on Earth? Listen and explore the possibilities...

Thanks to all the amazing talented artists on this album. You guys ROCK! Joe, Eddie, Carl, Nick, Igor, Andrew, Peter...I am forever appreciative of your friendship & artistry. This album shines as a result of your combined and individual artistic presence.

Serious shout out to the powerhouse talent, Jimmy Haslip! This album became ever more exciting as a result of your sheer artistry. Your kind demeanor, sage advice, and innate ability to interpret any and all music with immediacy and refined, stellar brilliance is a breath of fresh air. Most important to me is the friendship that grew between us during this project. Jimmy, you have made a very deep impression on me and I am completely grateful. Thank you. My best to your lovely Nancy!

Thanks also to Benny Rietveld. The12 time Grammy winner was slated to play on this album but his responsibilities as Carlos Santana's band leader & bassist understandably made it impossible to get him into the recording studio. We tried and tried for months but we just could not connect. The fact is I admire him greatly and hope to one day record with him on a future project. Benny, you are an amazing cat and I just love your style and pleasant personality. I'll be chasing after you!

Special thanks to my magnificent Mum, pianist Sandy Bennett Ruttenberg for helping to shape my musical and personal identity with love & encouragement throughout my life. Also, to my lovely BFF & super funny girl Yofi J. Odesser, & my wonderful cousin Sherry Mandel Podobnik for their inspiration, love, and support.
